Can I use this service worldwide?

Yes you can, but your country most support SMS or PayPayl. If your country does not have an SMS gateway you can only use PayPal as payment. Check this page to select a gateway. Also check this map to see if your country is supported.
Do you need a special mobile to order a song from Jukeboxsms?

No, all mobiles that can send an SMS can order a song from this service (99,9%). If your customers would like to browse your songs online or pay by PayPal they must have a smartphone.
What is a keyword in SMS?

When a customer orders a song from you, he/she texts to a number. For example: the customer sends a text to shortcode 72550 with text “JUKEBOX 001″, JUKEBOX is your keyword, and 001 tells our service to play song number 1 that you uploaded.
Which computer do I need to use the player?

Almost any modern computer will do. There are several mini computers on ebay that are great to hide behind your TV. Set the volume on the computer to 60% and connect it to your sound system.
Which browser should I use for the player?

We recommend Firefox or Google Chrome for the jukebox player. Log in to your account and launch the player from the back office.
How many songs can my customer choose from?

At Audiobox.fm you can have an unlimited number of songs. However, in the playlist for your customers you can have a maximum of 999 songs from your account at Audiobox.fm
Is this a jukebox software?

No, this is not a jukebox software, the entire jukebox player is in the cloud and you don’t have to install anything on your computer, just connect the computer to the internet.
Can my customers pay for songs with PayPal?

Yes, on the mobile page they can choose to pay for the song via PayPal instead of an SMS. You set up your PayPal information in the back office. Be aware that you must have a premier or business account at PayPal to connect it to the jukebox service. See our coverage map.
Which SMS gateway should I choose?

It depends on what country you come from as the SMS-gateway must be able to redirect the SMS to the gateways we have implemented (see this page). Some providers offer cheap keywords, Fortumo for example is really good but they offer sub-keywords which means that they add text to your keyword, e.g. you have the keyword “mycompanyname” but your keyword becomes “TXT mycompanyname” which means that your customers will have to write “TXT mycompanyname 001″ to order a song instead of “mycompanyname 001″. At Fortumo you can upgrade all keywords to real keywords if you pay a small fee. Some SMS gateway providers are listed below:

Do I need a license for playing music?

Ensure you have the correct licences to play music in your bar/restaurant/café/club or whatever place you own. If you already have a license please contact your organisation to see if you have the correct license. All countries have different laws. We do however recommend Jamendo who have Pro-license for public places. Write JUKEBOXSMS when you sign up and get 5% discount.
Is royalty free music available?

To source royalty free music try Jamendo which lists over 300,000 songs. Please read their FAQ about background music. Also you find completely free songs at CCMixer that you can use however you want as long as you follow CC By 2.5

What kind of equipment do I need to run the jukebox?

You need a flat screen or projector that handles 1920×1080 (full HD) or 1280×720 (HD ready) and a computer connected to Internet with at least 1/Mbit connection. You also need a cable from your computer to the monitor; no installation of any software is required (HTML5 based). To upload songs you need a music account at www.audiobox.fm and an SMS gateway that supports keywords, for example www.fortumo.com.
How much do I earn from this?

It’s impossible for us to predict your income. Let us take an example: if you are using www.fortumo.com to deliver your SMS and you set the price for each song to 1 US Dollar (you set any price you want at Fortumo), out of this 1 USD you earn 45% if your country is Sweden. That makes a profit of 0,45 USD per song. Let’s say you get 50 plays per day: 50×0,45 makes 22,5 USD per day; therefore, in one month you should earn 30×22,5 which makes a total of 675 USD. If you get 25 songs per day you should earn 338 USD. Our service only costs 19 USD per month and you can also use it to promote commercials, so we think it’s a bargain. Additionally you receive better payment if your customers pay with PayPal on the mobile site as you keep all the money.
Can I use the same jukebox player at different locations?

No, you have to buy one license for each location. But we are talking about 19 USD per month so it’s not a large amount.
Can I use it at home?

Is it possible to use it in your own home? We actually think it’s a great idea. If you activate the free payment button on your mobile site (included in Jukebox SMS) you’ll have a player in your home that can be controlled via your mobile phone. At your next birthday party you just give away the mobile URL with the invitations and voila you have your own jukebox.

Why does the cover of the Album not show up?

When you upload your song to Audiobox the cover is included in the audio file. If the album cover is not included you can upload a new cover via Audiobox’s interface.
What size should my adverts be in?

It depends on what resolution you have chosen in the back office. Either 1920×1080 or 1280×720. Save your adverts in 80% .jpg quality.

Where do I upload my songs to the jukebox?

You upload your songs at www.audiobox.fm where you have 5 gig for 0.99 USD/month. These songs are then streamed to your account at Jukebox SMS. You have to enter your Audiobox password at the back office at Jukebox SMS, otherwise you have no songs to play for your customers.
I have lots of MP3s on Dropbox is it possible to store my music there?

For now it’s not possible, although we plan to implement this feature. However, Audiobox can sync between several Cloud services such as Dropbox, Skydrive, YouTube and box.com. So just setup your Audiobox.fm account and point at your Dropbox account and all songs will be available here also.
Why don´t Jukeboxsms store the music?

We only deliver the player, which is our main service. Audiobox.fm provides such a great service of music storage/streaming we thought it was unnecessary to reinvent the wheel again.

How do I end my service?

In your account you have a button where you can terminate your account at any time, You always have to pay in full for the month you have started, we will not send any refunds even if you have e.g. 20 days left on your subscription when you terminate your account..

How do I get my money?

Customers can pay you by SMS and PayPal (via the mobile page). From PayPal you easily transfer money to your bank account. From the SMS gateways you just make a payment request.
How can I get higher income on my Jukebox?
